What the free lookup can't show you
FMCSA publishes everything below, across four portals, one record at a time, with no history. We pull it daily and lay it out per carrier. Brokers use it to catch the three things that cost loads: a carrier whose authority or insurance quietly lapsed, a brand-new authority that looks like an old company, and a contact who doesn't match the record.
- Authority — active / inactive / pending per docket, plus the grant, reinstatement and revocation history.
- Insurance — BIPD, cargo and bond filings on file, the insurer, effective dates, and scheduled or recent cancellations.
- Orders — out-of-service orders (and rescissions), revocation and suspension notices with serve and effective dates.
- Safety — SMS BASIC measures and alerts, inspection and out-of-service counts.
- Registration hygiene — MCS-150 age, undeliverable-address flag, prior revoked USDOT link, fleet size and mileage.
- Contact churn — phone, email, address or officer changes we observed between census pulls, and a plain count of other active USDOT numbers listing the same phone or street address.
